Bendjhi Villiers joined Cooperman College Scholars in September 2018 and serves as the Director of Pre-College Programs. His role includes leading all pre-college components such as new Scholar recruitment & selection, Summer Academy, and pre-college advising. He was born in Saint-Louis du Nord, Haiti and moved to Miami, FL when he was two years old with his Mother. He attended Franklin and Marshall College, through the Posse Foundation, as a member of Franklin and Marshall’s second STEM Posse. Bendjhi has a passion for writing, educational access and equality. During his time at Franklin and Marshall, Bendjhi served as a Facilitator for Franklin and Marshall’s College Prep program, a three-week immersive residential college experience that brings together rising high school seniors from underserved communities around the country. He also served as a mentor for Franklin and Marshall’s Next Generation Initiative. After graduating from Franklin and Marshall, the same year his mother graduated from Nova Southeastern University, Bendjhi received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant award and went to the Czech Republic where he helped teach English and ran an after-school poetry club at a secondary school in Pardubice, Czech Republic.
