The youngest U.S. Olympian to compete in track and field since 1972, Sydney McLaughlin set a junior world record in the 400m hurdles at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. She also won the silver medal at the 2019 World Championships in the 400m hurdles and is the current NCAA record-holder in the 400m hurdles. She broke her own World Record in the women's 400-meter hurdles to win the Gold in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics where she also won Gold in the Women's 4x400 Relay.
Growing up in New Jersey where attended Union Catholic, McLaughlin was named the Gatorade National Girls Athlete of the Year her Junior and Senior years of high school - the only athlete to ever win the award twice.
Upon leaving the University of Kentucky to pursue a professional career, McLaughlin became the face of New Balance, Gatorade, and TAG Heuer. She lives in Los Angeles where she trains with legendary coach Bobby Kersee.
